Social media has fundamentally changed the way we interact with our public at large and, even more, in our sport. What started as an innovative way to approach our target has become an essential tool for marketing, public relations and services. But as easy as social media has made it to connect with our customers and friends, it does come with some drawbacks.
There is no control on social media. Platforms like Facebook and Twitter allow anyone and everyone to share opinions which makes for interesting conversation, but it can be very dangerous. Social media must be continuously monitored to maintain a positive content.

Double outdoor summer show in Reykjavik, Iceland, June 23-25
The Icelandic Kennel Club held a double outdoor dog show and a puppy show in Reykjavik, Iceland, June 23-25. Our esteemed judges over the three days were Andrzej Szutkiewicz, Audur Sif Sigurgeirsdottir, Asta Maria Gudbergsdottir, Fabrizio La Rocca, Hanne Laine Jensen, Kari Järvinen, Philip John and Stephanie Walsh.
Friday evening puppies from 3-9 months of age were shown. That evening the junior handling competition also took place where 24 juniors competed in two groups. Judge was M. Katrine Jeppesen from Denmark.
On Saturday our annual Reykjavík Winner show was held and 630 dogs of 92 breeds were entered and shown. On Sunday the International show took place where 645 dogs of 94 breeds were entered. Both days dogs competed for the titles best in show, best veteran in show and best junior in show.
