Social media has fundamentally changed the way we interact with our public at large and, even more, in our sport. What started as an innovative way to approach our target has become an essential tool for marketing, public relations and services. But as easy as social media has made it to connect with our customers and friends, it does come with some drawbacks.

There is no control on social media. Platforms like Facebook and Twitter allow anyone and everyone to share opinions which makes for interesting conversation, but it can be very dangerous. Social media must be continuously monitored to maintain a positive content.

Benelux Winner Show 30th July 2017 in Rotterdam

This year the Dutch Kennel Club “Raad van Beheer” has granted the organization of the Benelux Winner Show for the second time to the show of Rotterdam (Stichting Hondententoonstelling Rotterdam – www.dogshowrotterdam.nl )

To qualify for the organisation of a Benelux Winner Show in the Netherlands, the organizstion has to meet a lot of conditions. Not only must the venue have enough space for the show, but it is also necessary to sign a declaration of intent, to present a project plan and a budget, which all have to be approved by the Dutch canine organisation. It is expected of an organisation to present a show of great allure and cachet.

The venue – Ahoy Rotterdam – is the perfect place to organise a show with allure and Dogshow Rotterdam has proven for the second time that they can present a show of this format.

Below some pictures which shows the ambiance of this magnificent show.

The Benelux Winner Show
In 2014 the national canine organisations of Luxembourg “Fédération Cynologique Luxembourgeoise”, the Netherlands “Raad van Beheer“ and Belgium “Royal Society Saint-Hubert” wanted to collaborate – following the initiative of Scandinavian countries – to launch a common title of Champion, namely the CHAMPION OF BENELUX. This title existed already a few years ago but had been forgotten.

The purpose is to reward the breeders and the owners of the pure bred dogs of the three partner countries for the contribution to the canine breeding in the Benelux. Compared to other countries, many dogs are presented to dog shows in these 3 countries, up to 50,000 dogs a year only for Benelux! That’s why it’s interesting to award an additional Benelux Champion title and Benelux Winner titles.

Each year there will be an exhibition in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands in collaboration with the national canine organisations (so 3 shows yearly) with award of BENELUX titles.

The Benelux titles

  • the title BENELUX WINNER is awarded to the winner of the CACIB in both sexes at a Benelux Winner show;
  • the title BENELUX JUNIOR WINNER is awarded to the best male and the best bitch of each breed/variety at a Benelux Winner show, entered in Junior Class, provided qualification “1st Excellent”;
  • the title BENELUX VETERAN WINNER is awarded to the best male and the best bitch of each breed/variety at a Benelux Winner show, entered in Veteran Class, provided qualification “1st Excellent”;
  • the title BENELUX CHAMPION is awarded to the dog that has achieved 3 BENELUX WINNER titles, proving these titles have been granted in each of the 3 Benelux countries (Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) under 3 different judges;
  • the title BENELUX JUNIOR CHAMPION is awarded to the dog that has achieved 2 BENELUX JUNIOR WINNER titles, provided these titles have been granted in the two (different) of the three Benelux countries under 2 different judges;
  • the title BENELUX VETERAN CHAMPION is awarded to the dog that has achieved 2 BENELUX VETERAN WINNER titles, provided these titles have been granted in the two (different) of the three Benelux countries under 2 different judges.

In order to get the BENELUX CHAMPION title confirmed the owner of the dog has to apply for it at the national canine organisations of Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg.

At the moment, the title Benelux Champion is not a permit to enter the dog in the Champion class, but we hope that this championship, with 3x CACIB in 3 different FCI-countries under 3 different judges will soon be recognised and the confirmation of this championship will be a permit to enter in the champion class on all shows in all FCI countries.
